A great way to start my brithday: BP in hand for a day in St. Barth's
SBHSt. Barth's
Cruising over the Caribbean at 1500 feet.
Gorgeous views on final approach into St. Barth's
Looking back up the runway after landing. That hill is no joke!
Inside what is likely the largest room on the island
Some crazy statues surrounding the main government building
Stunning views at every turn.
The drought conditions are severe, but somehow that makes it look more incredible
A typical approach path for flights in to SBH; that steep nose down is "normal" here
Overlooking the main harbor
Harbor, ships, sun and blues
A bit of planespotting, because I can
The lighthouse atop Gustavia hill
Shortly before getting chided for crossing the fence line
A SBH departure, likely headed to St Maarten
Incoming!
Yes, the planes really are that low as they land
A quick dip down the hill to the runway
The fence line at the other end of the runway, extending out into the water
Not a bad way to enjoy my lunch
A less common landing approach headed the "wrong" way in to SBH
And then we wandered about on the apron for a bit
Gotta stay close to the hill, but not actually hit it, to nail this landing
Up, up and away...leaving St Barth's
See you again soon, perhaps
